HANCOCK TO HOST OPEN HOUSE AT NEW SANTA YNEZ VALLEY CENTER

WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 6

Allan Hancock College is hosting an open house at its new Santa Ynez Valley Center on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 from 4:30-8 p.m. The center is located on the west side of the Santa Ynez Valley Union High School campus (building P) near the auto body lab and is accessible from the west entrance off Highway 246.

The event is open to everyone and coincides with Santa Ynez High School’s “Back to School Night.” Attendees will have the opportunity to meet Hancock student ambassadors, as well as Santa Ynez Valley Center staff, counselors and representatives from the Admissions and Records Office. Information on the Hancock Promise will also be available. This is the college’s newest program that provides high school graduates with their first year of tuition free at Allan Hancock College beginning fall 2018.

Hancock’s Community Education program will offer more than one dozen noncredit classes that are tuition free at the new center. Community members can visit the Community Education table to learn more about these classes and how to sign up for courses.

The center features two classrooms including a computer lab and two offices. A full-time student services technician is at the center and an academic counselor will be available during the week. Counseling is available for high school students and community members.
