29th Annual Back-a-Youth Nite

Local dignitaries and community members got together last night to Back-a-Youth at the Boys & Girls Club on Railroad. For 29 years, the Club has been inviting people to mentor a child for the evening. The night’s themed activities all focused on our five core program areas that are the foundation of BGCSMV- Character & Career Development, Educational & Leadership Development, Health & Life Skills, The Arts, and Sports, Fitness & Recreation. Everyone had a terrific time and enjoyed the planned activities.

Panda Express donated catering services and other local business provided items for the goodie bags. We would like to thank the Railroad Advisory Committee, led by Amy Lopes, for organizing and hosting the event and our BGCSMV Staff for all of their hard work.

Exterior Beautification Project

This week we saw a flurry of activity at our Railroad Club. New concrete was poured near the flagpole monument and another layer of decomposed granite was added in the raised beds. Special thanks to Vincent Lopez III & Famco Development, Inc. for their hard work and effort in helping us complete our exterior beautification project at our Railroad clubsite in Santa Maria! These contractors donate their time and resources to ensure our kids have a beautiful club to call their second home
