SMAT Unmet Needs Public Workshop on October 26th

Santa Maria Area Transit (SMAT) is inviting the public to a workshop on unmet transit needs.  As a requirement of the State of California Transportation Development Act (TDA), City of Santa Maria (SMAT) conducts an annual public input meeting to improve existing service and to identify future needs. The City of Santa Maria currently uses 100 percent of its TDA funds for public transportation.

The workshop will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 26th in Shepard Hall at the Santa Maria Public Library, 421 S. McClelland Street. For those who are unable to attend, but would like to provide comments, they may mail their comments to: the City of Santa Maria, 110 South Pine Street, Room 221, Santa Maria, CA 93458. Residents also may call (805) 925-0951 extension 2170 for more information or to provide comment. Comments are being accepted until Thursday, November 30th.

In compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, individuals needing special accommodations to participate in the meeting should contact SMAT at least three working days prior to the meeting at (805) 925-0951 extension 2225. A Spanish translator will be available at the hearing.

SMAT offers transportation service within the City of Santa Maria and in Orcutt. Most SMAT routes connect at the Santa Maria Transit Center, 400 E. Boone Street.
