Before you get busy in the kitchen
with your Thanksgiving feast…

…or disappear into the shopping mall…

…be sure you have your tickets to Rejoice! with the Santa Maria Philharmonic Orchestra and Allan Hancock College Singers on Saturday, December 2nd.

Maestro Nowak will open the concert with the sprightly dances of the Orchestral Suite No. 1 by J.S. Bach, followed by two choruses from Bach’s Cantata No.140 “Wachet Auf” performed by the Allan Hancock College Singers, directed by Ann Lucas.  Next will come Giovanni Pergolesi’s delightful setting of the Magnificat text taken from the New Testament, when the Angel Gabriel appears to the Virgin Mary with the salutation, “Hail, thou who art highly favored.”  And how else can you tell it’s December without a contribution from the mighty Messiah, Handel’s immortal oratorio?  The choir and orchestra will perform five of the most popular choruses from the Nativity portion of the work, concluding with the “Hallelujah” chorus.

How better to launch your holiday season than to Rejoice with us?  Get your tickets on-line here and enjoy your Thanksgiving holiday.
