The 2017 Holiday Spirit Project

The City of Santa Maria Recreation and Parks Department and the People for Leisure and Youth (PLAY, Inc.) invite the community to participate in the Holiday Spirit Project.

This ornament-sale fundraiser helps bring recreation and leisure programs and events to Santa Maria residents, while also beautifying Santa Maria’s Community Christmas Tree.

Those who make a donation of $20 to PLAY, Inc. will receive an ornament for their home. A personalized tag in their honor will also be attached to an ornament on the Community Christmas Tree, at the corner of Cook Street and Broadway (Highway 135).

Ornament orders can be made at the Recreation and Parks Department administrative office, located at 615 South McClelland Street, or online at www.santamariaatplay.org.

The grand illumination of the 24-foot-tall Community Christmas Tree will take place on Saturday, December 2nd at 5:20 p.m. near the City Hall courtyard. Tree-lighting festivities begin at 4:30 p.m. The illumination of the tree will mark the start of the Rotary clubs’ Christmas Parade of Lights 2017, on the west side of Broadway between Stowell Road and the Santa Maria Town Center (mall) until 8:00 p.m.

The Santa Maria Recreation and Parks Department and PLAY, Inc. express gratitude to Honda of Santa Maria – the 2017 Star Sponsor for the Community Christmas Tree.

Questions regarding this event may be directed to the Recreation and Parks Department at (805) 925-0951 extension 2260.
