REGISTRATION CONTINUES FOR SPRING CLASSES

AT ALLAN HANCOCK COLLEGE, CLASSES BEGIN THE WEEK OF JAN. 22

Registration for spring classes at Allan Hancock College’s Santa Maria campus is currently under way with more than 900 courses still available. Many begin the week of Jan. 22, and registration will continue until Jan. 21.

Students will not only be able to fulfill their general education requirements with the many options available, but also gain hands-on experience in a wide variety of semester-length and eight-week courses, including those in auto body, accounting, art, chemistry, law enforcement, music and much more.

Spring classes are being offered at the Lompoc Valley, Vandenberg AFB, and Santa Ynez Valley centers, and also online.

Other eight-week classes begin Jan. 22 or Mar. 26. Dozens of short-term classes, which last less than eight weeks, begin throughout the semester. Spring courses range from agribusiness, health education, global studies to sociology, speech communication and welding technology.

“For some students, the eight-week time frame fits their schedules better,” said Nohemy Ornelas, vice president of student services. “Others enroll in eight-week classes because they enjoy the intensity and focus of the shorter courses,” she said.

Credit and Community Education classes are still available for winter session at Hancock. Several classes begin the week of Dec. 18. Topics range from introduction to Excel, keyboarding, and introduction to tax preparation just to name a few.
