Board Member Profile:
Donna Randolph, State Farm Insurance
What is your profession/job title and how long have you been with the company?
I’m a proud State Farm Agent.
What did you choose this profession?
In high school at age16 I started as a student intern from ROP/Business class and 33 years later I own the agency. It’s a dream come true.
Why do you like most about your job?
I pay it forward and have student interns working in my agency, just how I started in this business. I get so much out of seeing them grow and transform into amazing insurance professionals. It’s life changing and so rewarding.
What has Chamber Membership meant for your business?
In 2007 I opened my State Farm Agency and before I opened the doors I walked into the Chamber and meant with Etta Waterfield who was director of the EDC at the time. She reviewed my business plan, gave me her thoughts on my vision and shared some other resources that were available to me that I hadn’t known about as a new business owner.
Why did you want to serve on the Chamber Board?
I never thought as a new Chamber member that I would serve on the board but after I joined the Chamber and saw all the benefits and felt all the support as a new business owner I just wanted to get more involved. I’m happy I joined board and feel I’m a better business owner because of all I’ve learned.
The best thing about the Santa Maria Valley is…
For sure the people! This is the community I was born and raised in, married in, had and raised kids and built a business in…its all I’ve ever known but wouldn’t change a thing. I love Santa Maria!
