Local children and their families are invited to paint, draw, sing and dance with professional artists Sunday, Jan. 21st from noon to 4 p.m. at the Discovery Museum’s 8th Annual Nat Fast Children’s Arts Day, a FREE community event celebrating the arts and the legacy of local artist Nat Fast.

Jan. 23: Tuesday Tales

Tacky, the lovable, oddball penguin, is determined to put his own spin on the Olympic competition in Helen Lester’s “Tacky and the Winter Games.” at 11 a.m. and 2:30 p.m!

Jan. 24: Preschool Patrol

Develop your little one’s literacy and fine-motor skills with this fun “Tacky the Penguin” craft Wednesday at 11 a.m. and 2:30 p.m!

Jan. 25: Passport Thursday

Grab your passport and travel with us to the world’s snowiest locations, and then make a fun, bubble-wrap snow scene at 11 a.m. and 2:30 p.m!

Jan. 25: Brain Builders

Thursdays at 3:30 p.m. our junior architects will build skyscrapers out of graham crackers!

Jan 26: Fit Friday

Power up your imagination and get your body moving when we recreate the activities from “Tacky’s Winter Games.” at 11 a.m and 2:30 p.m!

Science and Arts Supplies for our Creation Station and Maker Lab Needed!

We are always in need of duct tape, pom-poms, pipe cleaners, paint, paint brushes, cotton balls, cardboard tubes and sheets, beads & gems, feathers, paper plates, coffee filters, water color paper, mixed media paper, low-temp glue guns and glue, fabric, yarn (especially thick), crayons, markers, colored pencils and more!

Donating supplies is a fun way to support the Discovery Museum and to help build upon our daily programs and annual events like the FREE Nat Fast Children’s Arts Day. You can bring supplies to the front desk or email info@smvdiscoverymuseum.org to arrange pick up.
